Hello
My first tasting note, hope you enjoy reading it.
2003 Possums Shiraz a beauty!
This is classic, hedonistic McLaren Vale Shiraz from a very late-ripening site that seems to build color and weight into the wine without sacrificing balance. Inky black with a purple rim, the wine is loaded with dark, sweet berry and licorice flavors as well as a velvety, supple texture on the palate. Too easy to drink already, this is the kind of stuff that wins friends for Shiraz . Slightly closed at first taste, this wine opened up during that tasting to reveal delicious, intense aromas and flavours of powerful plum and dark berry fruits, spices, touches of liquorice with a slight chocolate twist on the finish. Long, intense and luscious, this powerful wine shows balance and intensity. Great wine in the full on McLaren Vale style, and a great follow up to the 2002!
